Grifola frondosa is a that grows in clusters at the base of trees, particularly . Commonly known among English speakers as Sheeps Head mushroom, Rams Head mushroom or Hen of the Woods, in Japan it is called "Maitake," which, literally translated, means "dancing mushroom."
